Get the most out of Verdabase strain profiles

We have organized the strains in our library into Families. Each Family is a foundational building block of the variety of strains we see on the market and in dispensaries and coffeeshops around the world today. By organizing in this way we hope to make it easier for you to identify and find the varieties that work best or that you enjoy the most.

For example, if you know that you love Jack Herer, you can see that this strain belongs to the Skunk, Northern Lights, and Haze families. Knowing that, you can search for other strains that were created from the same genetic building blocks and might want to try Cinderella 99, Super Silver Haze, or Dutch Treat as these all belong to the same Family groups. If you know you love Blueberry or Blue Dream, you can look for other varieties in the Blue Family.

There are some Family groups in which the "family matriarch" comes from unknown genetics but has itself become a building block for many other strains. For example, Chemdawg is a strain whose origins are the stuff of myths and legends but ultimately is of unknown lineage. However, because of its extreme popularity, Chemdawg itself has become the basis of many strains that came after it. This is why Chemdawg has its own Family group.
