Big Buddha Seeds’ Blue Cheese is the offspring of two iconic strains, the UK Cheese phenotype of Skunk #1, and Blueberry. With parents like that, one would have high expectations, and Blue Cheese doesn’t disappoint. Combining pleasant body relaxation with a cerebral, expansive euphoria, it's a great choice for daytime use. The look and smell are what you might expect judging by the name - berries and musty cheese with blue and purple hues if grown in the right conditions.

  • Indoor flowering time: 60-65 days
  • Indoor yield: 500-600 g/m2

Blue Cheese typically takes around 60 to 65 days to complete her flowering period. The sweet, fruity Cheese aroma starts to develop just a few weeks after the start of flowering and continues to develop and intensify as the plant matures. Most plants will reach a height of around 80 to 140 cm. When grown outdoors she can grow a little taller and will be ready for harvest at the end of September. Good growers will find they get equally good yields - you can expect an easy average of 500 to 600 grams per square metre. The only down side of Blue Cheese is the slightly above average leaf-to-flower ratio, meaning she will be a little harder to trim. However this little bit of extra work more than pays off on the end product. Blue Cheese performs extremely well in sea of green techniques as well as with both hydroponic and soil based methods of growing.

Blue Cheese has round swirls of compact flowers that develop distinctly purple hues near the finish. The close internodes of this plant make it highly suitable for sea of green growing. Indoor plants in SOG mature in 8-10 weeks. She produces a huge main cola indoors or out, with respectable additions to the yield from the controlled side branching. In the last two weeks, this strain finishes around Halloween.

History

Big Buddha's Blue Cheese was created, first by selecting a Blueberry male from the entire collections of several different breeder versions of Blueberry. The selected male was then crossed with our proud mother, and the backbone of many of our breeding projects - the original UK Big Buddha Cheese. From these crosses, a male with extremely fruity characteristics was chosen as the father of our Blue Cheese!

Blue Cheese was created by crossing a set of Blueberry males, acquired from several different breeders, with Big Buddha Cheese, the backbone of many of Big Buddha’s breeding projects. The resulting seeds were grown out and a male was selected from 40 different Blueberry x Cheese male contestants, becoming the proud papa of this pungent strain. The selected Blueberry Cheese male was then crossed once again with a Big Buddha Cheese female, making this hybrid a mostly cheese plant with a hint of blueberry.

Additional Information

Blue Cheese comes from UK Cheese and Blueberry – two, decades-old, elemental lines of ganja. UK Cheese is an iconic F1 variation of the famed Skunk #1 lineage, and was reportedly popularized by an alternative squatters commune called Exodus in the early ’90s. Blueberry is even older – a ’70s mix of Mexican Oaxaca, Purple Thai, and Afghanistan buds that can smell like a blueberry. Together – they’re basically globalization enshrined at the DNA level.

Blue Cheese is a hybrid strain of the Big Buddha’s Skunk #1 `Cheese` phenotype bred through the original Blueberry line. It is an easy to grow strain that offers good yields. It grows short and stocky with heavy side branching of resin filled buds. The smell and aroma is a cheesy, skunky taste and the effect is powerful and stoney.
