From two parents with mysterious genetics comes XJ-13, a clone-only hybrid quickly making its way around the medical cannabis scene. Bred from G-13, the legendary government strain from the University of Mississippi research program, and either Jack Herer or J1 (a Jack Herer backcross), XJ-13 tends to lean toward the Jack-influenced sativa side in effect. The smooth smoke combines flavors and scents of sweet citrus, pine, and spice. Known as a great morning smoke, the effects come on immediately with a cerebral high, both energizing and euphoric. While XJ-13 is an excellent choice for morning and daytime use, higher doses may bring out the G-13 influence and result in spending the day on the couch.

  • Indoor flowering time: 56-70 days
  • Harvest time: (Outdoor/Greenhouse) Mid to late October

This strain is clone only, capable of being grown both indoors and out. XJ-13 tends to finish flowering right between eight and nine weeks. Many growers recommend vegetating the strain for a month and topping it at least once. Outdoors the strain is ready for harvest around mid-October.

Favored among growers, XJ-13 has an extremely low leaf-to-bud ratio. This plant grows large colas that need support throughout maturity. She thrives well in either an outdoor or an indoor growing environment and is not considered suitable for the Sea of Green.

Flowering Time: 9-10 weeks. Yield: High. The "XJ-13" is a medium sized plant that's extremely vigorous growth allows it to churn out huge flowers covered in THC in only 9-10 weeks indoors and by the middle to the end of October outdoors. She has a very high calyx to leaf ratio so harvesting her mass amounts of gorgeous ganja will be a breeze compared to a lot of the other Jack Herer based hybrids on the market.

History

With a history even more obscure than it's famous parent, the only truth known about XJ-13 is it's direct lineage. It is a cross between the widely known strain G-13 and another famous strain, Jack Herer. While the breeder is unknown, it was listed in Oaksterdam University's 2011 clone catalog as being a “Garden Rescue” but no further information has surfaced. Some believe that the strain is an attempt to overcome G-13's main weak point, a lack of flavor that could really be called pleasurable.

Additional Information

Whenever one of the Jack Herer strains (in this case, J1) are used to breed, the result is always superior. XJ-13 is a classic hybrid marijuana strain, that is useful in helping a wide variety of symptoms and ailments. The XJ-13 buds are dense, almost neon-green in color, and infested with tri-chromes. XJ-13 gives off a sour, danky, and earthy scent. When smoked, XJ-13 hits instantly and powerfully, making it a favorite among cannabis patients in medical marijuana states.

XJ-13 is a strain that is popular both for its medicinal uses and as a great recreational choice. The XJ-13 is a wake-and-baker's dream. Packing the 'get up and go' of a high quality coffee sans the caffeinated nervous edge. XJ-13 helps you rise and shine with focused energy to start a productive day. It can be traced to the mix of two popular and extremely potent strains: Jack Herer and G-13. Needless to say, this hybrid mixture is one for the record books.

The Jack Herer strain (some sources say J1) is combined with G-13 in this meeting of the legends; an Indica/Sativa hybrid that is Sativa dominant. Piney, earthy, yet with sweet/citrus overtones, these high THC buds are reportedly solid and fairly dense with a low leaf ratio and orange hairs. This is another top-shelf strain absolutely covered in trichomes. Like it's G-13 ancestor, very little reliable information can be found on XJ-13, but it seems to be making a good impression on Californian patients with a nice energetic and uplifting effect.
