Master Kush is the offspring of landrace Hindu Kush and Skunk genetics. A unique indica-dominant and award-winning strain, Master Kush very quickly took over Amsterdam coffeeshops after coming on the scene in the early 90s. It provides an initial euphoric high that transitions into full body relaxation. Used to relieve anxiety, depression and stress as well as chronic body pain and inflammation, Master Kush also makes food more appetizing so plan accordingly. Beneficial in getting a good night’s sleep but still leaving you with a clear head in the morning. The smoke is smooth and non-expansive, however, a caution for inexperienced users, the high comes on slowly making it easy to over medicate and end up stuck on the couch.

  • Indoor flowering time: 63-70 days
  • Harvest time: (Outdoor/Greenhouse) Early October

A vigorous plant, Master Kush thrives under most growing conditions, producing well in indoor and greenhouse set-ups. This variety grows into a medium-sized, compact, densely formed plant with sparse, spikey, forest green leaves. Master Kush’s ball-shaped buds are light green with long hairs that range from white to orange in color. Buds are dense, thick, and heavy, which makes mold a risk in humid climates. Advantageously non-smelly while growing, the resulting bud has a hint of earthiness and sweet citrus but is virtually without taste. Origins: Hindu Kush x Skunk. Flowering: 63-70 days. Harvest: early October.

Master Kush is known for its farmer-friendly genetics. Portly buds hang heavy on the branch of this medium height plant. This plant size lends itself well to indoor grows, but the strain also thrives outdoors. Master Kush has a short flowering time and large yields, making it a favorite amongst commercial farmers. And Master Kush has a notable lack of odor normally exhibited by skunky marijuana plants, making it a viable option for stealth gardens.

Additional Information

The flavor of Master Kush is definitely a Kush derivative, with citrusy and earthy notes, as well as hints of pine and spice. It's a smooth smoke, and the taste and scent are fairly similar, and it provides an all-over buzz that can lead to couch-lock. It's highly potent, and is an excellent choice for most medical treatment, but is especially beneficial for pain relief and appetite enhancement.

Master Kush is a strain originally named High Rise, which comes from south Amsterdam. This mostly Indica strain gained popularity in coffee shops there as a unique tetraploid strain. Most cannabis strains are diploid. They have two sets of chromosomes, one from each parent in each cell. Tetraploid strains carry four times the number of haploid chromosomes, making eight sets.
