According to DNA Genetics, Kosher Kush originally was a very popular clone-only strain in the Los Angeles area known as “Jew’s Gold” or “JG.” DNA had heard the hype and acquired a cut to try for themselves. As it turned out, Jew’s Gold lived up to its reputation so DNA bestowed a more politically correct name upon it, and the rest is history. While the exact genetics of Kosher Kush are unknown, it is generally thought to be an OG Kush cross or possibly just a particularly fabulous phenotype. This highly awarded, top shelf indica is also a potent medical strain. While the high includes some uplifting cerebral effects and pain management, its most effective medical use is for insomnia and other sleep disorders. New users should approach with caution as this strain has the potential to bring on overwhelming sleepiness.

Well, some background on this strain is a group of Jewish kids in LA were running around with this great herb and calling it "Jew Gold"... now in the upper crust LA scene this name was all good and people had embraced it..... Well we just couldn't get ourselves around the name and referred to it as the JG... well after time went on, we acquired a cut from the JG crew, at a price of course, and started to grow the JG in numbers and well... lets just say it lived up to the hype!!! DNA both are non-religious on every level and really don't have the desire to promote or not promote any race, religion, or creed... With that being said, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to turn the Jew Gold into the Kosher Kush!!! Keeping humor alive and trusting the cannabis community can handle a stoner name like Kosher Kush!! And most people would agree if somebody says "it’s kosher" it generally means its OK, not lets go to the synagogue ... So Kosher Kush was born... People are asking every day when are the Kosher Kush seeds going to be available and the demand is very high!!!

According to Reserva Privada, Kosher Kush began as a popular LA-based strain that was jokingly referred to as Jew’s Gold. Unsatisfied with the name but in love with the strain, Reserva Privada reached out and acquired a cut from the Jew’s Gold growers and started growing the strain themselves. The DNA crew was impressed by the quality of the strain but knew the name needed a name change if it was to become more popular. Not motivated by religion, Reserva Privada eventually renamed the strain Kosher Kush to honor the original grower’s humorist approach. They claim this name better refers to all of the people who feel blessed for having the chance to smoke it and experience its’ unique taste. I would have to agree.

Additional Information

The Kosher Kush made its public debut at the 2010 HIGH TIMES Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam, taking home first place in the Indica Cup. The boys at DNA Genetics brought her back in 2011 to defend the title, and she did not disappoint, taking home first place in the Indica Cup again. On top of that, the Kosher Kush had the highest potency of any strain entered this past year (2012) in Amsterdam. It’s no wonder the Kosher has been added to DNA’s top-shelf stock in their coveted Reserva Privada lineup.

This heavy-hitting Indica strain is top quality medicine in nearly all aspects and comes highly recommended for people who need to rest. Stemming from unknown genetics, this potent strain is known for continuously producing high cannabinoid content — specifically levels of THC. The high THC percentage will account for an increase in appetite as well as “stoney” effect that is followed by a heaviness that can be felt both physically and mentally. Highly recommended by patients who suffer from sleep apnea, insomnia, anxiety, or those looking for a powerful stress and natural pain reliever. Like most heavy indica-dominant strains, Kosher Kush is known to make your eyelids heavy and produce uncontrollable yawns when medicating with large quantities — especially if you are already tired pre-medicating session. Being a heavy, full-bodied strain, Kosher Kush will produce a slight body melt followed by an cerebral effect that can be best described as spacey and/or zone-inducing.

Kosher Kush is an amazing strain out of California. It is stinky, over the top with smell and with an average yield making all who smoke it feel "blessed" if you will that they had a chance to taste her... Instantly any herbalist who tries her wants more....
